Active C Eyes

October 14th, 2007 by Sofia Moussier

Brand: La Roche-Posay

The Claim: This product comes in a 0.5-oz. fluid tube and aids in combating premature aging of the eye area and reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles. Its main ingredient is Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid).

The Good: Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant and can stimulate collagen synthesis. As a good exfoliator, it has an effect on dark circles and fine lines, and Active C Eyes does this well. If you have either of those symptoms, you’ll likely be very impressed with the results. It has a nice texture and absorbs well.

The Bad: Vitamin C is notoriously unstable, even when stabilized. It is proven to work, but within a month, it starts degrading. Don’t expect this to be a good wrinkle fighter unless you buy a new bottle every month, and at that point, things start to get expensive. It can also cause minor stinging under the eye area upon application. The tube is small, but again, this is a good thing because if it were large, most of it would be no good after a few weeks.

Final Word: Consider using it to get rid of those unsightly dark circles, but for wrinkles, your money is probably better spent elsewhere.
