Cura-C Anhydrous Vitamin C Body Treatment
Brand: Borghese
The Claim: “Anhydrous gel-creme body treatment with an optimal level of Vitamin C to moisturize, smooth and texturize skin. This luxurious body treatment provides anti-oxidant protection. Used regularly, skin will have a healthy, radiant look.”
The Good: Many researchers believe anhydrous (dry) vitamin C is more effective than regular vitamin C because of its superior stability. Water triggers vitamin C oxidation, rendering it useless after a short period of time (skin care manufacturers will never tell you that, of course). Dry vitamin C, therefore, may offer the same anti-aging benefits without those problems.
The Bad: Vitamin C can be irritating, and it won’t work for everyone. Also, dry vitamin C does not completely stop the oxidation of the vitamin, it just slows it down.
Final Word: Scientifically speaking, this is a viable alternative to regular vitamin C, although no good studies have been done to compare the two side by side. If Cellex-C is too pricey for you, then anhydrous vitamin C might just be what the doctor ordered.
